Delivered in partnership by UK100, ClimateView and Mott MacDonald
Hundreds of councils across the UK have developed ambitious climate and energy plans, but many of these remain intentional, rather than being converted to long-term delivery programmes. Why is this, and how can we move from ideas to action?
Join UK100, ClimateView and Mott MacDonald for this free taster session about ClimateView’s upcoming practical training course which can strengthen your council's climate strategy and turn it into a measurable, evidence-based action plan.
Free online taster session: 15 September 2026, 12:00–13:00 | Register now

Why join the taster session
Climate strategies are only as strong as their delivery. This free taster session will help councillors and officers to discover how your council can turn climate plans into measurable, evidence-based programmes of action that can withstand changing political priorities and local government reorganisation and devolution. You'll hear insights from the 300+ councils already using ClimateView globally (all 32 Scottish councils use ClimateView, and UK100 members such as Bristol City, Bath and North East Somerset, Manchester City, Glasgow City and more) and find out more about what the 3-part course can offer you.
About the course
Local government is in a period of change. Shifting political leadership, local government reorganisation and devolution are reshaping how councils integrate climate action and resilience across public services, from housing and planning to transport and waste. At the same time, government's digital transformation is creating new capacity to access, share and act on data across organisational boundaries, turning what has been a fragmented, time-intensive process into joined-up, evidence-based decision-making.
For councils, these changes create real opportunities to improve public outcomes through climate action: the ability to track emissions, coordinate priorities across services, and demonstrate how progress on decarbonisation translates into practical public benefits, from lower energy bills and warmer homes to cleaner air and healthier communities. Councils that navigate this period well will be best placed to transform their climate commitments into real, visible improvements for residents.
ClimateView and Mott MacDonald's course is for climate officers and cabinet members who want to make a better case for action across the council and create plans that truly deliver.
In three sessions, ClimateView and Mott MacDonald will enhance your existing plan into a measurable course of action so that it doesn't stall when priorities or governance shift.
Why sign up to the course
