Join our webinar with UKPN on energy flexibility.
The energy system is shifting from a fossil-fuelled, centralised model to one that is local, flexible, and powered by clean energy. Local authorities will have a growing role in this transition, and energy flexibility is an important tool they can use to help make it happen.
Energy flexibility is all about changing when we generate or consume power. It helps reduce the need for costly grid upgrades, generates new revenue streams (£££), strengthens energy security and supports climate targets. Put simply, it’s a win-win for local authorities. Not only can they benefit, but they can play an important role in unlocking flexibility services as asset owners and through working with communities, SMEs, and social landlords to build trust, aggregate participation and ensure that flexibility markets are accessible to all.
UK100 collaborated with UK Power Networks DSO and Association for Decentralised Energy (ADE) to identify common barriers and develop key recommendations to enhance local authorities’ engagement in flexibility. Join this webinar to hear the results and find out how your local authority can make the most of energy flexibility in the future.
