UK100 is proud to be media partner for CN RE:NEW: Retrofit in Focus, Construction News' one-day retrofit conference at the Kia Oval, London, on Thursday 12 November.
With 80% of the buildings that will exist in 2050 already built, retrofit is now central to every local authority's net zero and housing plans. CN RE:NEW brings local authorities, housing providers, funders, developers and contractors together to explore how retrofit can be delivered at scale.
Taking place two weeks after the 28 October Budget, the programme moves from major project case studies to the systemic barriers holding retrofit back, including VAT, business rates, EPC standards and heritage consent. The afternoon explores how retrofit is framed, funded and procured, with sessions on public sector procurement and private finance for social housing. The day closes with retrofit as neighbourhood regeneration, with Newcastle City Council and Kensington and Chelsea sharing lessons from occupied estates.
Speakers include UKGBC, Lloyds, Savills, BSRIA, Grosvenor and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
