What’s this toolkit about?

Published in May 2024 with ACT Climate Labs, this was UK100’s first toolkit on climate misinformation. It is a short handbook to help local authority leaders and officers get ahead of climate misinformation where possible, and to respond if a situation is escalating.

It draws on the tips and activities adopted by UK100 members and experts at the time, as councils pioneering work on traffic calming, air pollution and car dependency saw a sharp rise in misinformation. We launched it at our Taking the Heat Out of Local Climate Action workshop at Innovation Zero on 1 May 2024.

Why do you need this toolkit?

  • It will help you understand the history and rise of misinformation.
  • It will help you recognise how misinformation can take root locally.
  • It will help you equip your team with the tools and tactics to get ahead of and mitigate misinformation.

‍

How to access the toolkit

This toolkit is available to UK100 members only. Request a copy using the form on this page. A member of our team will check your request and email the toolkit to you within 24 to 48 hours.
