Climate misinformation is no longer something that happens elsewhere. Council meetings are being stormed, social media posts hijacked and carefully planned engagement derailed, and local climate action is increasingly the target. Join us for this open masterclass from UK100 Connect, our comms and engagement training programme. Over the past year, officers and elected members from across our Connect cohort have worked through how to spot, respond to and get ahead of misinformation. Now we're opening that learning up to the whole UK100 network.

Chaired by Christopher Hammond, Chief Executive of UK100, the session will cover:

• The tactics currently targeting local climate action: what's out there and why it works
• A proportionate response framework: how to decide when to respond, how, and when not to
• How proactive engagement heads misinformation off before it arrives: building the trust and support that make local climate action resilient

You'll also get hands-on with practical tools from our Getting Ahead of Climate Misinformation toolkit, and hear practical lessons on breaking down internal silos, working across council teams and communicating climate action in ways that resonate with local communities.
