Take your climate action plans to the next level with this lunchtime learning on the art of influencing.

Take your climate action plans to the next level with this lunchtime learning on the art of influencing.

Understand how influencing can help you accelerate your local climate ambitions

Join us for the first of our 2025 Lunchtime Learning webinar series where we'll be exploring the role of influencing in accelerating the local net zero transition.

We're focusing on this topic because we know many of you have ambitious climate action plans and net zero targets. However, we also know much of the work needed to deliver on these ambitions hinges on powers beyond your control, by county councils, combined authorities, local partnerships, and national government. To achieve the change we want to see, we need to work with these bodies, but how can that be done effectively?

This webinar will showcase examples of effective influencing from across the UK including:

  • UK's first influencing strategy - we will learn about how Calderdale Council went about developing an influencing strategy in support of their net zero programme, with the support of UK100 Pathfinder Kate Chappell.
  • We will introduce our new ‘Influencing Toolkit’ - with tips on how Calderdale Council’s example can be replicated.
  • Glasgow City Council’s lessons from COP26 - We will hear from Duncan Booker, COP26 Stakeholder Manager, on the lessons Glasgow has learnt from hosting the conference.
